For those of you who picked up Poser around or before the year 2000, I'm sure you'll be really familiar with the Poser 4 renderer. Lightning fast and no frills. Your artworks are rendered within minutes instead of hours. It's like a budget airline that will get you where you're headed exactly - instead of plodding along for hours suffering under the strain of Firefly rendering - only to end up with a mediocre render.
The main downside with the Poser 4 renderer compared to Firefly is the lack of reflections - but you can easily get around this with basic reflection maps.
The Poser 4 renderer is also built into Poser 5 and Poser 6, you can easily access this from the top menu of Poser by selecting Render>Render Settings.
Once the dialog box pops up, click on the Poser 4 tab (picture below) and turn on(check) the 'Antialiasing' and 'Ignore Shader Trees' boxes. You're now ready to render with the Poser 4 renderer :)
By the way, when rendering with the Poser 4 renderer, you'll notice that the ground plane also shows up when rendered in Poser 5 and Poser 6 (picture below)
You could easily get rid of the ground plane by double-clicking on it and turning off 'Visibility' and 'Shadow Casting' in the Properties box.(picture below)
