   Props

Most Planetvixens outfits and items comes as poseable characters that you can conform to Victoria, Aiko or The Girl. The main advantage of being in character format - besides the obvious fact that they can be posed - is that you are able to freely change the outfit textures using the supplied 105 different MAT files. This gives you a wide range of choices in texturing your outfits for your scene.

However, there may be times where you might need one or more of the outfit items to behave like a normal Poser prop. This conversion from character to prop is fairly easy to achieve.

In this tutorial, I'll create a William Tell scene using the items from the Princess of The Elves II outfit. To get the scene done, I'll need to convert the Princess of Elves Arrow from a character into a prop.

Here's how it's done - start with an empty Poser scene, next load the Arrow into the scene and give it a texture you like from one of the MAT files. In this example, I'm giving the arrow a Vinyl Black material. Once textured, from Poser's top menu, select File>Export>Wavefront OBJ and save the textured arrow on your hard drive.

Delete the arrow from your scene and import the new arrow you just saved on your hard drive back into your scene - voila - the arrow now works like a prop :) You could save this new arrow in Poser's props library and reload it whenever you need it.

For this tutorial, I have Victoria 3 posed in the Princess of The Elves II outfit with an apple on her head - next I loaded the arrow I converted into a prop using the instructions above (picture below)

I then maneuvered the arrow into position and presto - the Princess of Elves-William Tell scene is done :)

Using this technique, almost any item can be converted into a normal prop - bodice, dresses, capes, hats, boots, etc.
