   Postworking - Part I

If you've always thought that Poser is just good for those plastic-woman-like renders, and that only high-end renderers like Maya is capable of creating realism then you're absolutely mistaken.

Poser is capable of coming close to or even reaching realism. The key ingredient in good and realistic Poser renders is the lighting used. If you have any outfits from Planetvixens then I would recommend that you get to know and use the BVH ProStudio light set supplied free with it.

Besides good lighting, here's a trick that you could use during postworking to get your Poser renders to go that extra mile towards realism.

Boot up your favorite photopainter and open up a real photo of any supermodel in it. I would recommend a photo of a closeup and of course, minimal clothing so that it would act as a good reference for getting skin tones correct ;)

Next, open up your Poser render and place it beside the photo in your photopainter (picture below)

By having a real photo beside your Poser render, it'll really help you adjust the brightness, contrast and colors of your Poser render to match.

In this example I spent about 15 minutes adjusting the colors and brightness of my Poser render to match the photo. Having a real photo as a reference really helps you from straying during postwork and overdoing color and brightness adjustments to the point of nudging your Poser renders from the point of realism ;)

And below is the finished artwork after color and brightness adjustment. If you're wondering, the chair is a simple prop you could create by following the Modelling tutorial in the Planetvixens' Tutorials section. The shackles are the Victoria 3 Fetish Leg Shackles - available at the Planetvixens Accessories section.

Best of luck with your artworks and happy rendering :)
