Imagine flying an aeroplane at night without instruments - without altimeters, airspeed indicators, etc - even with a small Cessna trainer, this sounds like suicide dosen't it? Well imagine working with Poser without ever touching the Parameter Dials - less dramatic but results are still the same!
Never neglect this important feature of the Poser interface - I know of people who turn off the Parameter dials in Poser 5 and Poser 6 just cause 'it clutters the workspace'
They rely totally on pre-packaged poses they purchase on the internet and when the pose dosen't work, instead of tweaking the pose to match what they had in mind, they move on to the next pose or worse still - totally give up work on the artwork to hunt and purchase more poses on the internet!
Posing your characters can be quite an art and the Parameter Dials can be a very useful and rewarding tool for fine-tuning poses from the default ones you purchased. You could also perfectly adjust morph settings to match your character or do minor adjustments on the x,y and z Scales to solve any poke-thrus for your final render.
So always keep the Parameter Dials in view and use it often - plus never-EVER turn it off for reasons as silly as 'it clutters my workspace'!
